Yes. V100 maintains independent zoom state for each video tile. A user can zoom into speaker A at 3x while viewing speaker B at 1x. Each tile's zoom level, pan position, and animation state are tracked independently. Double-tapping any tile resets only that tile to 1x.

How does auto-zoom work with active speaker detection?

When auto-zoom is enabled, V100 automatically zooms to 1.5x on the active speaker's tile and resets other tiles to 1x. The zoom transition uses smooth CSS animation for a natural feel. Users can override auto-zoom by manually zooming any tile, which disables auto-zoom for that tile until the user resets it.

Why Video Zoom Matters

In gallery views with 10+ participants, each tile may be only 150-200 pixels wide. Critical visual information -- facial expressions, shared documents on screen, whiteboard content -- becomes unreadable without zoom capability.

Detail Inspection

When a participant shares a document, code, or whiteboard, other viewers need to zoom in to read the content. Without zoom, they switch to full-screen mode and lose sight of other participants. Per-tile zoom lets viewers inspect detail while maintaining the gallery view context.

Per-Tile Independent Zoom

Each video tile maintains its own zoom state (scale and pan offset). This means a viewer can zoom into speaker A at 3x to read their shared document while viewing speaker B at 1x for facial expressions. The zoom state persists until the user resets it or the meeting ends.

Smooth Animation

All zoom and pan transitions use CSS animations with configurable easing curves. The default ease-out curve provides a natural-feeling deceleration at the end of gestures. Animation duration is 200ms for zoom changes and 150ms for pan, fast enough to feel responsive but smooth enough to avoid jarring jumps.

Auto-Zoom Integration

When auto-zoom is enabled, V100 automatically applies a gentle zoom (1.5x) to the active speaker's tile and resets others to 1x. Users can override auto-zoom by manually zooming any tile, which suspends auto-zoom for that tile until the user resets it with double-tap.
