Are V100 recordings tamper-proof?

Yes. Every recording produced by V100 is signed with ML-DSA-65 (Dilithium), a NIST-standardized post-quantum digital signature algorithm (FIPS 204). The signature covers the recording content, metadata, timestamps, and participant list. Anyone can verify the signature through V100's public verification endpoint.

Two Recording Modes for Every Use Case

V100 supports both client-side and server-side recording. Use one or both depending on your application's requirements. Both modes produce AES-256-GCM encrypted recordings with ML-DSA-65 signatures.

Client-Side Recording

Captures the participant's local audio and video stream directly in the browser using the MediaRecorder API. Recording chunks are buffered in IndexedDB for resilience against network interruptions, then uploaded to V100 storage when the recording stops or the network recovers.

Server-Side Recording

Captures the composite meeting stream on V100's infrastructure. All participant video and audio tracks are mixed into a single recording, stored in AES-256-GCM encrypted S3 buckets, and delivered through CloudFront CDN with signed URLs.

How the Recording Pipeline Works

V100's recording pipeline handles everything from capture to delivery. Developers interact with a simple start/stop/get API while V100 manages encryption, transcoding, signing, and CDN distribution behind the scenes.

Capture

Recording starts via API call or auto-recording flag. Client-side uses MediaRecorder; server-side captures the SFU composite stream. Pause and resume are supported on both modes.

Encrypt and Store

Raw recording data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using per-recording keys managed by AWS KMS. Encrypted chunks are written to S3 with server-side encryption enabled.

Transcode and Sign

Recordings are transcoded to 720p, 1080p, and 4K variants. A PQ-signed manifest is generated using ML-DSA-65 Dilithium, covering content hash, metadata, and timestamps.

Deliver via CDN

Transcoded recordings are distributed through CloudFront CDN with global edge locations. Secure download URLs with configurable expiration are generated via the API.

Auto-Recording

Set autoRecord: true on meeting creation and recording starts automatically when the first participant joins. No manual trigger required. Eliminates the risk of forgetting to record compliance-critical meetings.

Pause and Resume

Pause recording during confidential segments and resume when ready. Paused segments are not captured or stored. The final recording is a seamless concatenation of active segments with accurate timestamps maintained throughout.

Retention Policies

Configure automatic deletion after 30, 60, 90, 180, or 365 days. Custom retention periods available on Enterprise plans. Supports compliance with GDPR right-to-erasure, HIPAA record retention, and industry-specific requirements.

Integration Guide

Start, stop, pause, resume, and retrieve recordings through V100's REST API or SDK. Recordings are automatically encrypted, transcoded, signed, and delivered via CDN.
